  • Low Carbon (green) Hydrogen is looked upon as a key lever for decarbonisation of India’s economy and for energy self-reliance. In Jan-2023, India’s National Green Hydrogen (GH) Mission was launched. India has the potential to become the Global Hub for production, usage and export of Green Hydrogen and its derivatives.

  • MoP&NG has a Hydrogen Corpus Fund (HCF). The Fund participates in funding R&D projects which are led by the oil industry.

  • There is a huge impetus on “Make in India” in hydrogen sector and this opens up opportunities for local/ global companies to set up manufacturing facilities for green hydrogen or related ancillary equipment.
