The pipelines play an essential role in maintaining the supply chain of crude oil, petroleum products and gas in the country.

  • Total length of crude oil pipeline network across India is 10419.6 km with a capacity of 147.9 MMTPA.

  • Utilization of Crude oil pipeline increased by 7.4% during H1 of FY 2022-23 as compared to the previous year.
  • Petroleum product pipelines, including LPG, have a total network of 19072 km and 117.2 MMTPA capacity.

  • Capacity utilization of petroleum product pipeline is 79.9%

  • LPG Pipeline network in India is 3,729 Kilometres, while capacity utilization is 103%.
  • India operates a network of 21,102 Kilometres of Natural Gas pipelines.

  • 12,005 Kilometres of pipeline network is under way to complete the National Gas Grid
