India and the US join hands to revolutionize the oil and gas industry with the UH-DGH Data Center at University of Houston.

A historic moment took place as the Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas; Housing and Urban Affairs Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri, Secretary P&NG, Mr. Pankaj Jain, the Ambassador of India to the United States Mr. Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Consul General of India in Houston Mr. Aseem R. Mahajan, and Directorate General of Hydrocarbon (DGH), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Houston to establish the “UH-DGH Data Center” at the University of Houston.

This collaboration is a game-changer for the oil and gas industry, with India and the United States coming together to promote industrial cooperation and knowledge advancement between governments, businesses, and academic institutions.

Located in the heart of the Energy Capital of the world, Houston, the UH-DGH Data Center will provide easy access to exploration and production data to more than 4,500 energy companies in the Greater Houston area and the Gulf Coast of the USA.

The UH-DGH Data Center will have state-of-the-art facilities, equipped with a geoscience data repository, analysis facility, and interpretive software that will help promote the acreages on offer and attract investors in the upstream sector of India. This step will be a potential game-changer for India's oil and gas sector.

This partnership will provide opportunities for R&D, promoting the potential of Indian offshore basins across the globe through high-visibility publications and conferences. DGH and UH will synergize their capabilities and work together to foster commercial engagement with knowledge advancement, making this a win-win partnership for both India and the US.
